figtoipe software package provides convert FIG files to XML files for ipe, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install figtoipe
figtoipe is installed in your system.
Make ensure the figtoipe package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep figtoipe *
You will get with figtoipe package name, version, architecture and description in a table
